Will it slow my site down?
No. The script is small, loads after your page, and only fetches audio when someone presses Listen.
Which languages are supported?
Premium voices in English (American, British, Australian, Irish and more accents) and Spanish; standard voices in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Online voices read 50 languages, including Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, German, Russian and Turkish. The few others use the visitor's own device voice. Translation covers 50+ languages.
Does it make my site accessible?
It helps many people read your content: people with dyslexia, low vision, or a second language. It works with the keyboard and screen readers and doesn't change your page. It's not an "accessibility overlay" and doesn't fix your site's own code; good, accessible HTML is still needed.
What happens if I run out of credits?
Pages that were already played keep working (they're cached). For new audio, the button switches to device voices until the next month, so it never stops working. You can upgrade any time.
Can I choose what gets read?
RetroAudio finds the main article by itself and skips menus, sidebars and footers. You can also name the part to read, or mark parts to skip.
Is there a WordPress plugin?
Yes. Install it, paste your site key, and the button appears on your posts and pages.
What about privacy?
